A twelve-day in-depth Buddhist circuit beginning and ending in Bodhgaya, with extended visits to Sarnath, Sravasti, Lumbini, Kushinagar, Vaishali, Nalanda and Rajgir.
Route: Bodhgaya → Dungeshwari → Gaya → Varanasi → Sarnath → Sravasti → Lumbini → Kushinagar → Vaishali → Nalanda → Rajgir
Duration: 12 days / 11 nights
Arrive in Gaya and transfer to Bodhgaya. Visit the Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhi Tree and selected international monasteries. Overnight in Bodhgaya.
Visit Dungeshwari Cave Temples, where the Buddha practised austerities before enlightenment. Later continue to Gaya and Brahmajuni Hill before returning to Bodhgaya.
Drive to Varanasi and visit Sarnath, including Dhamek Stupa and major Buddhist remains. Attend the evening Ganga Aarti in Varanasi. Overnight in Varanasi.
Take an early-morning boat ride on the Ganges and spend the day exploring Varanasi’s ghats and major spiritual landmarks. Overnight in Varanasi.
Drive to Sravasti and visit Jetavana, Ananda Bodhi Tree, Angulimala Stupa and other Buddhist remains. Overnight in Sravasti.
Travel to Lumbini, complete border formalities and visit the sacred birthplace area of the Buddha. Overnight in Lumbini.
Drive to Kushinagar and visit the Mahaparinirvana Temple and Ramabhar Stupa. Overnight in Kushinagar.
Proceed to Vaishali and visit the Ashokan Pillar, stupas and other sites associated with the Buddha’s final teachings. Overnight in Vaishali.
Visit the ancient Nalanda University ruins, then continue to Rajgir for Gridhakuta Hill and other Buddhist landmarks. Overnight in Rajgir.
Drive to Bodhgaya and spend the remainder of the day visiting the main pilgrimage complex. Overnight in Bodhgaya.
Full day for Mahabodhi Temple, monasteries, meditation and personal activities. Overnight in Bodhgaya.
After breakfast, transfer to Gaya Airport or the agreed departure point for the onward journey.
